Graeme College follows the syllabi of the Eastern Cape Education Department. The subject selection has been chosen to accommodate a wide variety of options. We endeavour to enrich these syllabi to the benefit of our pupils.

Senior Phase – Grade 8 and Grade 9

Literacy, Language and Communication (LLC) (English/Afrikaans/Xhosa)

Mathematics

Economic and Management Science (EMS)

Life Orientation (LO)

Human and Social Science (HSS)

Natural Science (NS)

Arts and Culture (A&C)

Technology (TECH)

National Senior Certificate (NSC) – Grade 8, Grade 9 and Grade 10

NSC subjects are grouped into two main categories – group A and group B.

Group A – a learner must select four (4) subjects from:

Three official languages are offered. Two must be selected.

English Home Language, Afrikaans First Additional Language and Xhosa First Additional Language.

Life Orientation (compulsory)

Mathematics or Maths Literacy (One must be selected)

Group B – (a learner must select a further three [3] subjects, one subject from each of the following options:

Physical Science ,Business Studies or Life Sciences

History or Life Sciences or Music or Design or Visual Art

Accounting or Geography or Music or Design or Visual Art
