The Digital School of Virtual and Open Learning (formerly Institute of Open, Distance and e-Learning) seeks to provide learning opportunities to students who are unable to take up full-time on-campus programmes. Students will specialize in any of these areas: Emotional and Behaviour Disorder, Physical and other Handicaps, Mental Retardation and Pervasive Development Disorder, Learning Disabilities.

Minimum Requirements

Mean grade of C+ (plus) at KCSE or equivalent with at least C+ in one of the following subjects; English/Kiswahili, Math/Biology and any Arts subjects OR Mean grade of C (plain) at KCSE, or Division III at KCE or equivalent OR two (2) Principal passes and one (1) Subsidiary pass at KACE and be holders of P1,

S1 or Diploma in Special Education credentials from a recognized institution with at least two (2) years teaching experience after training OR Mean grade of C- (Minus) at KCSE or equivalent with Certificate and Diploma in relevant field from a recognized institution

5.Bachelor of Education (Arts): Geography, C.R.E, Islamic Studies, Kiswahili, History, English, Business studies, French, Mathematics and Literature. Kenyatta University Digital School September Intake

Mean grade of C+ (plus) at KCSE or equivalent with at least C+ (plus) or equivalent in two subjects of career choice OR Mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or Division III at KCE or equivalent or two (2) Principal passes and one (1) Subsidiary pass at KACE and be holders of P1, S1, or Diploma in Education from a recognized institution OR Mean grade of C- (Minus) at KCSE or equivalent with Certificate and Diploma in relevant field from a recognized institution. Those taking Bachelor of Education(Arts)-English and Literature should have B- (Minus)or Equivalent in English.

6.Bachelor of Education (Science): Mathematics, Biology (Zoology, Botany), Geography, Physics, Chemistry.

NB: Two Teaching subjects and Education units are done in this degree programme.
