INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Students from other countries may study at International Hotel School upon successfully obtaining the relevant study Visas attainable from the South African Embassy or Consulate in their country of residence. No student may be registered for their programme until they are in possession of a valid study Visa. As the Visa regulations have changed in South Africa,  you may no longer be able to apply for/change your Visa status from within South Africa.

The valid study Visa is to be presented at registration.

South African legislation requires all international students to have:

  • A valid passport and study permit.
  • Full medical cover with a South African based medical aid scheme.
  • A proven ability to support themselves financially and to settle their fees.

Language requirement

The medium of instruction and examination at the International Hotel School is English. International applicants for whom English is a second language may be required to undergo and pass specific language tests set by International Hotel School. All applications from international applicants are assessed individually.

Tuition Fees

All foreign students pay the same fees as South African students but are required to pay their tuition fees in full before registration. Most of the programmes commence in February/March and July of each year. Since it takes a lot of time to comply with all the necessary requirements, we recommend that you start with the application process as soon as possible. The education consultants at each campus will be able to assist you and advise you with your application to ensure that you have all the required documents and processes in place.
