South African Women’s Graduate Bursary 2023 – 2024

National Fellowship Awards 2019

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. All applications must be made on the SAAWG National Fellowship Awards Application Form 2019.
  2. Application forms may be downloaded by clicking on the link provided below.
  3. All applications and accompanying documentation must be submitted between 1 January 2019 and the deadline 25 March 2019.
  4. An awardee will be required to sign acceptance that her name,university, degree or diploma and year, name of award and amount will be published in the SAAWG Annual Journal and on the SAAWG website.
  5. Late or incomplete applications wiwll not be considered.
  6. Failure to meet the minimum requirements will result in applicants automatically disqualifying themselves from consideration.
  7. Receipt of applcations will not be acknowledged.
  8. An applicant who does not receive notification of an award must assume that her application was unsuccessful.
  9. No further correspondence will be entered into.

STUDYING AT SOUTH AFRICAN TVET COLLEGES, UNIVERSITIES AND UNIVERSITIES OF TECHNOLOGY

N.B. APPLICANTS MUST HAVE COMPLETED AT LEAST THE FIRST YEAR OF COURSES LEADING TO THE UNDERGRADUATE DIPLOMAS AND DEGREES AS DETAILED BELOW

AUDREY WARTON HENLEY SCHOLARSHIP FUND: Annual value R 2 000.00For a female who is studying for an undergraduate Diploma or Degree (including Honours) in Fine Arts, Drama or Theatrical Studies

LORIS P MARTIN SCHOLARSHIP FUND: Annual value R 2 000.00

For a female who is studying for an undergraduate Diploma or Degree (including Honours) in Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Dressmaking/Tailoring or Design.

EDNA MACHANICK AWARD (2 AWARDS): Annual value R 3 000.00

For a female who is studying for an undergraduate Diploma or Degree (including Honours) in any discipline or field.

SAAWG FRIENDSHIP BURSARY: Annual value R 3 500.00

For a female who is studying for an undergraduate Diploma or Degree (including Honours) in any discipline or field.

STUDENT AID FELLOWSHIP: Annual value R 2 250.00

For a female who is studying for an undergraduate Diploma or Degree (including Honours) in any discipline or field.

POSTGRADUATE DEGREES
(MASTERS AND DOCTORATES)

STUDYING AT SOUTH AFRICAN UNIVERSITIES AND UNIVERSITIES OF TECHNOLOGY

MARY AGARD POCOCK AWARD: Annual value R 1 500.00

For a female undertaking postgraduate studies/research in Botany, Natural Sciences or related studies (including Environmental Studies).

BERTHA STONEMAN AWARD: Annual value R 3 000.00

For a female undertaking postgraduate studies/research in Botany, Natural Sciences or related studies (including Environmental Studies).

ISIE SMUTS AWARD: Annual value R 1 500.00

For a female undertaking postgraduate studies/research in any field.

SAAWG INTERNATIONAL FELLOWSHIP AWARD:
Annual value R 1 500.00

For a foreign female who is enrolled with a South African university or university of technology for at least one year of postgraduate research.

HANSI POLLAK SCHOLARSHIP: Annual value R 3 000.00 per year for two years (next award in 2020)

For a female undertaking postgraduate research directed towards bettering social conditions in South Africa. The recipient is required to spend at least two years in South Africa after completing the degree,implementing the results of the research
