The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) develops vital administrative and management skills expected by global organisations, preparing you for employment in junior, supervisory and management positions.
The BBA teaches you how to master numbers and manage yourself and others – essential ingredients in improving a company’s performance.
Students will learn to generate and implement integrated plans and make decisions based on a holistic understanding of the organisational structure, systems, processes, culture, resources and strategy. This degree also equips you with key managerial and leadership competencies to establish a new venture.
General information
The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree provides knowledge and skills in general management, to progress in your career in a management environment across all sectors.
The BBA is an NQF level 7 (360 credits), a three-year degree, which develops generic administrative and management competencies required for success in the business world. This programme is offered over a minimum period of three years and a maximum of five years. You can select any two majors from among the third-year modules.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA): Credit Banking
The Bachelor of Business Administration: Credit Banking (BBA: Credit Banking) will help you take your career in banking to the next level. It offers an in-depth investigation of key banking functions and what it takes to manage them, through modules such as Banking, Economics, Financial Management, Change Management and Strategic Management.
After successfully completing the BBA: Credit Banking programme, you will be able to inter-alia:
- Develop a bank strategic plan that demonstrates knowledge of relevant management theories and models
- Evaluate and interpret financial statements by applying a range of methods so you can make informed financial management decisions and assess the viability of the bank
- Understand credit management in the banking sector and related credit laws
- Analyse a bank’s financial performance and develop strategies for improvement of profitability

Upon successful completion of the programme, you will be able to demonstrate integrated knowledge of relevant strategic management theories and models in developing a bank strategic plan and to evaluate and interpret financial statements to assess the viability of the bank and make informed decisions.
The BBA: Credit Banking is an NQF level 7 specialisation qualification consisting of 360 credits. It is a three-year degree that equips students with the relevant management and leadership skills, knowledge and self-awareness to perform more efficiently and to take their career in banking to the next level.

The Bachelor of Business Administration: Retail Management (BBA: Retail Management) gives you a thorough understanding of retail organisations. It is for people who are new to the retail industry and those who have been working in retail and would like to progress to a management level.
It offers you career opportunities by broadening your understanding of local and international retail business administration and management.
After successfully completing the BBA: Retail Management programme, you will be able to:
- Develop and monitor a retail business strategy using the strategic planning process
- Analyse the impact of retail sector trends on the development of a business strategy
- Understand the importance of IT in managing retail operations
