Oasis Bursary South Africa 2023 – 2024


The Oasis Group, founded in 1997, is an international fund management operation. The companies products are categorized into 3 areas: Savings products (which include: Endowment and Collective Investment Schemes); Pre-retirement products (which include: Retirement Fund, Retirement Annuity Fund, Preservation Pension Fund and Preservation Provident Fund); Post-retirement products (which include: Pension Annuity).

Headquartered in Cape Town, the company operates across South Africa (with offices in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town), as well as in Ireland (with an offshore subsidiary in Dublin).


Oasis bursaries will be awarded to students pursuing the following qualifications:
Bachelor of Business Science (BBusSc) – specialising in:

  • Analytics/ Economics/ Economics with Law; Marketing; Organisational Psychology/ Finance/ Quantitative Finance/ Finance with Accounting/ Computer Science/ Information Systems
  • (as well as Postgraduate students in one of the above)

Bachelor Of Commerce (Bcom) – specialising in:

  • Actuarial Science/ Actuarial Science specialising in Quantitative Finance/ Financial Accounting: General Accounting/ Financial Accounting: Accounting with Law/ Financial Accounting: Chartered Accountancy/ Economics and Finance/ Economics with Law/ Economics and Statistics/ Philosophy, Politics and Economics/ Management Studies/ Organisational Psychology/ Industrial Psychology/ Human Resource Management/ Information Systems/ Information Systems and Computer Science/ Bcom Law/ Bcom Economics with Law/ Bcom Financial Accounting with Law/ BAcc LLB
  • (as well as Postgraduate students in one of the above)

  • Quantity Surveying/ Property Studies/ Geographical Information Systems
  • (as well as Doctor of Science (DSc) degrees in one of the above)

Bachelor of Arts (BA) | Bachelor of Social Science (BSocSc) – majoring in:

  • Economics/ International Relations/ Statistics/ Industrial Sociology/ Psychology/ Organisational Psychology/ Philosophy, Politics and Economics/ Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Applied Statistics/ Computer Science/ Film and Television Studies/ Audiovisual Production Management/ Visual Communications (Graphic, Illustrations | Photography, Digital)/ Media and Writing/ Multimedia Design/ Graphic Design/ Digital Marketing/ Web Design/ Strategic Brand Communications/ Copywriting/ Brand Building and Management/ Strategic Brand Management



Bursary recipients are required to take part in the Vacation Work Programme. Once students have graduated, they must take up employment at Oasis – the working period will be equal to the duration of funding received as well as 1 extra year.

Applicants will receive acknowledgement of their application within 2 weeks of applying – if you do not receive any receipt of confirmation, you should contact the Bursary Officer (021 413 7860).

Successful applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by 31 December 2019 at the latest. Successful applicants who wrote their Matric exams in 2019 will be notified of the outcome of their application as soon as possible after your final matric results are received.
If you do not receive any feedback (other than the receipt of confirmation), please regard your application as unsuccessful.

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

  • South African citizen,
  • Studying or intending on studying full time in one of the aforementioned fields of study
  • Studying or intending on studying at a recognised tertiary institute in South Africa

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your completed application form (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application be disregarded):

  • ID document OR passport (certified copy of)
  • Colour photo (passport size) to be attached to the top right corner of the first page
  • Full academic record from Grade 10 to present, if currently in Matric (certified copies of)
  • Full academic transcripts and certificates to date (including Matric, A level, O level/ Bachelors, Honours, Masters and PhD) (certified copies of)
  • Acceptance letter OR preliminary acceptance letter from your selected tertiary institute
  • Bursary or Loan Agreement
  • Tax Invoice stating the tertiary institute’s fees
  • Testimonial if applicable, from one of the following: your Teacher, Principal, Lecturer, Faculty Dean
  • Proof of household monthly income
  • Proof of any dependents
  • Monthly budget, stating income and expenses
  • Medical certificates
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • 2-minute video (further instructions can be found on the application form)
  • Letter of recommendation from a parent or guardian (optional)

*If applicants are unable to submit a supporting document, they must provide an explanation as to why they cannot provide it. They must also state when the outstanding documents will be submitted.
