Geologists study the structure, composition and history of the earths crust, as well as examining minerals, fossils and rocks in order to identify the processes affecting the earths development. These experts also apply their knowledge of mathematics, biology, chemistry and physics in order to try locate petroleum and mineral deposits and underground water sources.
Geologist (entry level) earn an average income of R292 000 per annum.
